That's very Brave of you Mr. Anderson

Think of yourself at your High School graduation. Picture all your closest friends and family with you in a very important moment in your life. The commencement ceremony is starts and you are the Salutatorian of your class. You know what for even better measure you were raised in Texas. That all seems like a lot of pressure right? Yes in my opinion the state of Texas is also added pressure and I'll explain why in a moment. Public speaking isn't easy as a teen and it's probably not something you are use to doing.

Now picture all those elements except during your Salutatorian speech, you come out. You let the whole world know you are gay. That's what Mitch Anderson of Texas did. The Huffington Post has the entire article and more links to his entire speech at that link.

Now my hope is that being gay, straight, bisexual, or transgendered becomes a social norm and acceptable in society before the end of my life. This story shows a courage that hardly anyone possesses. He's quoted in the speech talking about a boy he liked in high school. Most of us couldn't tell the person we liked in private let alone in front of your ENTIRE graduating class. AND IN TEXAS! What makes the story even better is that his family embraced him, told him they loved him, and his Father Hugged him. Bravery that not really anyone could show at that moment to disclose something like that.
